Frequently Asked Questions
What is TachyonX?
TachyonX is a new program designed for Web3 founders who are in the very early stages of their journey. After an application and series of short interviews, Consensys Mesh will invest $150,000 in accepted companies. In addition to funding, founders will receive mentorship and support from the Consensys Mesh team and extended mentor network based on the needs of each individual company.
Who is funding TachyonX?
TachyonX is powered by Consensys Mesh. Founded in 2015 by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, Mesh has four core components: investment, incubation, research & development, and acceleration. Learn more about Mesh here.
How is TachyonX different from an accelerator?
Unlike an accelerator, TachyonX doesn’t operate in cohorts nor is there any formal classroom time. TachyonX helps founders build their business and jumpstart initial growth through hands-on support from the Consensys Mesh team and mentorship from our network.
Does the program include funding?
Yes. Consensys Mesh invests $150,000 with a SAFE and token side letter for 4% equity and pro rata token right to insider token allocation.
What does the application process entail?
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. All applicants are asked to submit an application online and those who advance will be asked to interview with the Consensys Mesh team.
Is the program remote?
Yes. The program is fully remote. However, we host in person events globally throughout the year in which founders participating in the program will have the opportunity to connect with fellow community members in person.
Who should apply to TachyonX?
Early-stage founders who have identified a solution to a real-world problem and are building in Web3. No prior experience is required but we ask each team to have at least one founder with technical ability.
What is the Tachyon Accelerator program?
The Tachyon Accelerator is a 12-week program that helps founders rapidly validate and grow their businesses. Since 2017, we’ve launched 6 programs with 70+ active alumni.
